An Indonesian violinist, Clarissa Tamara, attained global acclaim as the “world fastest violinist”, playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” at 273 bpm at the age of 14. This remarkable achievement of playing approximately 18 notes per second opened doors for Clarissa’s career, enabling her to perform across Indonesia as well as internationally. Her performances have taken place in countries such as the United States, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Her versatile musical background which includes both classical and popular genres gives her the opportunity to collaborate with numerous musicians worldwide.

Clarissa initiated her musical career at a young age. By the age of 9, Clarissa had already launched two albums, one of which was being awarded by the Indonesian Music Awards as the “best instrumental album” and the “best instrumental production”. Since then, Clarissa has gained more opportunities to perform, be interviewed by prominent media companies, make appearances on various TV programs, and perform in many events.

Currently, Clarissa is pursuing a master’s degree in violin performance at the University of Georgia under the guidance of Levon Ambartsumian. She holds a teaching assistant position at the university. In 2022, Clarissa completed her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance with summa cum laude at the University of North Texas under the guidance of Julia Bushkova. During her undergraduate study, Clarissa was granted a full scholarship through the UNT College of Music undergraduate string quartet program, which led her to join the Frieden String Quartet for four years.

In 2014, Clarissa, accompanied by her father, Ferdinand Marsa, who is a composer, arranger, and her manager, decided to become involved in ChildAid Asia, a non-profit organization. Through this organization, Clarissa had the opportunity to collaborate with talented children from different parts of the world, create music from their heart, and raise funds for underprivileged children across Asia. Clarissa’s passion and love for playing the violin bring immense joy and happiness to the audience’s hearts.
